Annual GMSC tarmac stage rally. Proper motorsport with corners and timing this is an excellent event with superb spectating of a very varied field. Part of the Scottish Tarmack Rally series and Ecosse 205 challenge. From Scoobs to Mk1 escorts with 205s and even the occasional historic car as well. The stages are very varied from a flat out in 4th to 1st gear chicanes. Usually a few spills and lots of great spectating points.
Starts at 08:30 and on until 16:00ish although the best stages are usually the first two.
Marshals are very much required and indeed the event is in some danger of not running if we do not get enough. For those who want to turn up to spectate I would urge to get there a bit earlier and help out. the spectating area is limited and I doubt that the main part of the track will be open to spectators anyway. So please lets put something back into the event. this is NOT a commercial event like the Crail thrashes. Glenrothes Motor Sport Club does not make any money out of this and it is run purely for motorsport enthusiasts. spectating gets you close to the action and is great fun. all you really need to do is get out of your bed a bit earlier than usual and fill a flask.
